Bills: Losman still not close to playing
The News
Rookie quarterback J.P. Losman, who suffered a broken fibula nine weeks ago, was in uniform as the Bills' third quarterback on Sunday. Losman has been practicing with the team for about a week but has not participated at full speed or in any full contact drills. When asked about the speculation that Losman could see time later in the year in place of the struggling Drew Bledsoe, coach Mike Mularkey told the Buffalo News, "that's a hypothetical question that's weeks away. I'm not going to answer questions when a guy is not even practicing."

Our View
Notice how Mularkey made no denials about the idea of Losman playing this season. If you had no plans to play a rookie, wouldn't you just say he had no chance to play right now, rather than beating around the bush? At any rate, it appears Losman is at least a month away from realistically having a shot to play in a game, but if the Bills continue to struggle it would surprise us if Losman did not play in place of Bledsoe towards the end of the season.

Bills: Red zone struggles continue
The News
The Bills rank last in the NFL in red zone efficiency. In 16 trips inside the opponents' 20-yard line, they have scored just four touchdowns and six field goals. In week seven, they had four trips into the red zone and failed to score a single touchdown. They came away with points on only two of those trips. The team is blaming poor run-blocking and poor decision-making by quarterback Drew Bledsoe.

Our View
The Bills have been shooting themselves in the foot all season by squandering chances to score touchdowns. Three of their losses have been by three or less points. If not for the lack of scoring in the red zone, the team could easily be 3-3 or even 4-2 right now. What does it all mean from a fantasy perspective? First, the Bills don't have a single rushing touchdown all season, and second, the calls for both Bledsoe and starting running back Travis Henry to be benched in favor of rookie J.P. Losman and Willis McGahee, respectively, are certain to get louder and louder.
