If not for Jennings' arena-sized girth, you'd almost think he could be a tight end. That's how fluid Buffalo's front line has been. After trying several players in every position (only left guard Ruben Brown was untouchable), the coaches decided to match second-year man Jennings and Brown on the left side First round draft choice Mike Williams will play right tackle, and Marques Sullivan is filling in for injured Jerry Ostroski at right guard. Free agent signee Trey Teague, who played left tackle in Denver last year and was expected by many to do the same in Buffalo, will snap the ball at center.

The move surprised many observers, and the coaches' reasoning hasn't been explained player-by-player. It's a reasonable bet that the coaches feel Jennings and Williams are big and athletic enough to both double-team defenders and protect the outside of the line. Ostroski and Brown are both veteran guards, and Teague brings five years of NFL experience to center.

That LT position is important. We need a quality lineman to protect Bledose's blindside. DB isn't the most mobile guy out there anyway, they definitely have to protect his back.

Reuben is the man at LG, and it seems that JJ has both size and athleticism for the job. Having a tackle at center concerns me, but I guess we have to trust the powers that be...they see a lot more than just the numbers we do.
