I can't understand why we're hoarding these things. Most of our draft picks don't pan out. I wouldn't think twice about trading draft picks for known talent.
This isn't the NFL. With the exception of 1-2 players a year, no NHL draftees will play usually until 3-4 years after they are drafted.
Can't get Marchment for Brown? Throw in a 4rd rounder, 3rd, 2nd, who cares?
Want Darcy Tucker, give them a couple of two's. We used to have about 5-10 of them.
Start unloading mediocre players, throw in useless draft picks, and get some above average known talent in here. Stop clutching to these things like the bread of life. What do you think we'll get for Haseks's draft choice? Probably nothing.
