WGR is reporting that Troy Vincent will move to FS to let McGee play CB. (No Link)Thats a tough call to make since Vincint is not yet a definate to play this week.. But when he does come back it will be hard to keep McGee off of the field with his athletic ability.. McGee is a Player.

Reporting, they say he "Is moving to FS" You really can't keep T-Mac off the feild, he might be the most athletic player on the team.

tmac..

he was a back up named terance mcgee a few weeks ago.. and he returns a kick and he is tmac..

i do like what i see from him.. he has gotten burnt for one big play in each of teh last three games.. but against patten (new england) it was a pick play.. he learns how to avoid that with experience.. and the two other long passes he was on the guys back and almost knocked the ball away both times..

i do like him alot.

This is what TD and Mularkey planned all along - although it was intended to happen next year so as to give McGee and Thomas more seasoning. Turns out, because of injury, McGee got that seasoning early. Vincent defintely strikes me as the type of smart veteran who can make the switch without much difficulty.

I think that move will help us at both positions. We will have a younger, more athletic, and faster guy at CB and a better football player at FS. Vincent has been around long enough that he should be able to adapt real quickly.

I don't mind this move. It isn't like we are fighting for a playoff spot.

Exactly, might as well get both experience at the positions they will be playing next year.

9 in a row and we go!

Possible, but not likely...

I would be excited about that move. TV has a nose for the ball and could make some plays from FS.

I like it, the guy has been playing the game a long time...It will be no problem, I HOPE, for him to switch. I just hope he is a good open field tackler. Cause if CMartin breaks through the middle and gets by the LB's, then it is just he and Vincent....

rod woodson was just actually much better at FS than he was as a corner (at least the last 5 years he was a corner, obviously not at the beginning of his career).

and he was older.

Only thing we can do now is hope it turns out to be true, be nice to see a capable FS on this team again.

Only thing we can do now is hope it turns out to be true, be nice to see a capable FS on this team again.Hoping doesn't make the statement true.. TD said nothing about it in the Press Conference, and Vincint was talking about looking foward to playing corner as recently as Wed... Along with the Fact that the guy is still Questionable for Sunday makes this report somewhat suspect.

Yeah the Defense is only ranked #7 in the League in passing.. Lets do something to shake things up... Did you see all of the times that Reese has been beaten this season? NONE.

5 or 6 tackles per game isn't bad from the FS position.

Thanks, now are we sure he is playing this week? We need to shut Pennington down and Chrebet had a field day in the last meeting.

I like Mcgee a lot and I think hes got a ton of potential...but hes still needs more experience as a #3 corner b4 getting the start. In the last game against the jets he was getting burned on 3rd down by chrebet way too much ,,,,and thats what experienced recievers will do to him till he matures a bit...i say keep him as the #3 for a while...the season is not done yet.....

Great news. I always thought TV was a bit long in the tooth for CB anyway. TMAC (wink) looks like a playa, and the safety position is more about experience, so this is a win-win. The more young guys we can get playing this year, the faster we will get back to respectability in 05-06.

I agree with th epost above and T-mac is funny.
Do we pay too much for for TV to play FS not CB?

If the plan was to move Vincent to FS, why did we let Winfield leave? We still have, what, $5million under the cap?

McGee looks good on ST, but he has a long way to go to earn a healthy-roster start . . . he HAS given up at least one big play in every game I've seen.

Funny you should mention Chrebet, juice. He kinda ate you boy Reese alive last time as I recall.

No that was McGee that he tossed up the entire game.. I'm all for having that type of athletic ability on the field.. But maybe you saw something different from everyone else, Give me an example.

I wouldn't say that Reese was "My Boy" as much as I recognized that Coy Wire was not a DB and would never play the position.

Reese kind of reminds me of the Henry situation, He's a solid player but like Henry will never have the potential of Willis, Reese wont make the plays that an athlete like McGee can make.

What do you think about your Boy Coy's chances of making the team next year.. It will have to be as a specialist on special Teams.. Wire laid some nice blocks to spring McGee Last week.

Dime backer for Coy, imo. The kid can't cover worth sh#@, but he actually plays well around the line of scrimmage. That may be the one area that he could feel comfortable at and make an impact here and there. Of course, he does excel on special teams, but it's harder to keep him solely for that reason.
