Vikings | McKinnie Talks Not Close - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
17:17 PT: Sean Jensen, of the Pioneer Press, reports the Minnesota Vikings and rookie OT Bryant McKinnie remain far apart on negotiations. The two sides talked several times on Monday. Head coach Mike Tice said, “We’re not very close at all.”

Boy I'm glad we got Mike Williams instead of McKinnie. I am not suprised by this holdout at all.

McKinney's probably holding out for a better salary than Mike Williams. He won't get it of course, but you could see that inflated ego in McKinney before the draft. The thing I like about Williams is that he seems pretty down to earth, funny and friendly. He seems to want to work hard too, while McKinney's work ethic seemed somewhat questionable.

When it comes to drafting a player........it's more than just ability on the field you are acquiring. I hope McKinnie holds out all TC!

Do the Vikings have room to sign him, if he wants an exhrbitant amount of money?

I always said McK was overrated and I'm sure he'll demontrate that too. Williams was flat out the better T in every facet.

I'd be holdin' out too on Minnesota. With their OL one of the best things that McK can probably hope for is not to sign, sit this year out, and then sign next year when they can get some linemen squeezed in around Moss' $14M annual contract. LOL

I agree with everything Tiger said about Mck. I read the AP story regarding his contract negotiations and not only are they not that close, but the rhetoric is getting a bit nasty. Doesn't seem like he'll be the fan favorite we've got. I think his attitude was a factor in our passing him up.

Just wait for him to sign and play. I can't wait. I think he's gonna get schooled in spades. I really do. The only reason why he was rated as high as he was was b/c he was huge. Huge doesn't cut it in the NFL by itself.

I hope he's in there for the first game, b/c I'll be watching...

I'll even step out and say that the fans get pissed at him after a few weeks b/c he's not playing well after holding out like this.

All I can say is that it looks like TD and GW drafted the right guy, now lets hope his actions on the field proves the duop right once again
