..though legal, did anyone else feel like that was an unnecessary cheap shot?

A little forceful maybe.... BUT..... if one of our players was too gentle with the opposing kicker - and that kicker managed to make the play.... I'd be pissed. I'm glad he was willing to attempt the play, but he's aware of the risks of being on the field.

True. But I mean, slamming the punter? I could do that.

It was a little unnecessary, Mooreman did his job and he paid for it. Jordan is a marked man though and I will be willing to bet that this act will not go to sleep when we meet up with Jordan again!

Maybe a little excessive but we would all be cheering if a Bills player did that to Vinateri.

I don't mind the hit one bit. Moorman was going for the tackle. Most punters try to shy away to avoid contact. That makes him more than fair game, IMO.

It was a hell of a hit, but he was fair game so I don't mind it. I actually laughed when it happened because he got absolutely demolished... :couch:

There was another punter that got whacked about two weeks ago. I can't remember from what team, I just remember seeing the highlight over and over again on Sportscenter. It was funny then and if our players got a chance to demo an opposing punter I say go for it. I was hoping Moorman didn't get injured but truthfully you know those guys are looking for any chance to kill a kicker. With all the acting kickers do to get the roughing and running into the kicker penalty called they're just asking for it.

I hope Jordan is on the team next year and Brian Moorman or even Rian Lindell (he's a big guy) lays him out. That would be sweet revenge.

It was typical of the Jets, whom I have always considered - the Raiders not withstanding - the dirtiest team in the NFL. Their chop blocks are extraordinary and their late and out of bounds hits are beyond compare. I'll never forget how one such cheap shot cost Andre Reed nearly a full season.

I actually hate the Jets more than the Fins and Pats.

It's what he gets for Showboating!

Dude punted the ball, it went out at the one and he acted like he just won the Superbowl. For the next 5 minutes he was up on the Jumbotron getting the fans going. The Jets didn't want to get shown up by a kicker, so he seeked him out and laid him out. I'd a done the same thing!

Moorman's being there was insignificant. Someone else took care of it and he was already slowing down because of it when he was broad sided. I hope Jordan felt like a big muscle man hitting someone who wasn't even looking.

Who wouldent slam a punter or kicker if they could. Most plays if you breath in there direction you get a roughing penalty. They are way to protected in this league.
