I was wondering where the name "Buffalo Bills" came from. I heard that Buffalo was named after the French expression for beautiful river, which I guess is reasonable. That's not what I think of when I recall my days there, but I guess the French expression for "it's cold as balls up here" doesn't have the same ring to it. But after that, why "Bills"? Because of Buffalo Bill? If any of you can satisfy my curiosity, I'd appreciate it!
