Ricky Williams guarantees playoffs for Dolphins

The bold words drew scant notice, perhaps because they were spoken softly late at night following the Miami Dolphins' latest defeat.

"I guarantee you that we're going to be in the playoffs," Ricky Williams said.

As such pledges go, this was not exactly Joe Namath-caliber. It made no headlines and may soon be forgotten, which is just as well for Williams, because he could be wrong.
