View Full Version : Why is everyone so desperate to trade for a 1st round pick?

Think of the first rounders from the last few years
M. Williams- coming around but definitely not worth a 1st rounder.
McGahee- sat on the bench for a year then gave us 3 good games
JP Losman- it's really early, but he looked incredibly raw last night
Evans- comes up with a big play every other game but no consistency.

Granted, time will tell on all of these players and I still have hope for them. But this team needs consistent veterans to help develop the young talent. We need players who can contribute NOW, not more works-in-progress. I'd much rather trade Moulds or Henry for someone who will have an immediate impact.

I wouldn't mind either if we could get a young and up and coming player. But, as has been pointed out numerous times, player for player deals are rare.

I'm with you, TDs track record isn't exactly stellar for 1st rounders.

Plus, the experts are saying that this is supposed to be one of the worst draft classes in a while.
