Nate Clements = BUST

Nobody has really been talking about this, but Clements is a bust. He was drafted at #19 overall and should be a lockdown CB. In his 4 seasons, he has done little to change the course of games. Ray Lucas accounts for roughly 1/4 of his picks. He gets beat often. To me, he has not lived up to the billing of a 1st round pick.

Teams have been picking on other corners since he's been here. IE Winfield, Watson, McGee.

Nate is the type of DB that flourishes when he has strong Safety play backing up his style of play, which is to Gamble by jumping the pass lane with his quickness. He'll get alot of picks when he guesses correct, but will fall victom to the pump-fake and go Routes. Milloy and Clements will become more familiar with each other and will begin to pick up on the others tendencies.

Nate is a stud who goes for the Big play, a ball hawk that is a complete cover corner that will lay a big hit.

Clements is a decent CB he is not a shutdown corner, but a solid starter. Plus he can return punts. It would be nice to have a pass rush to take some of the pressure off the CB. Plus he is not getting any help from other DB or Safety's

the ball does not generally get thrown in his direction due to lesser players on the other side of the field. With a quality corner on the other side of the field (which we may see when vincent gets back) he may be tested more often. Then you can realistically judge his ability. For now atleast we know where the ball will be thrown next. Nate Clements seems to have been cutting the field in half and not even allowing those routes (against him) to even become a factor.

Agreed. Whew....I mean, I HATE TD but I'm willing to give the kid a chance, because quite frankly the thought of him being another TD bust is far too depressing.

I'm happy with Clements. Hard hitter, fast,shut down corner. His weakness is he gets beat by stop & go's or like someone said he gets beat because he tries to make the int. <
No way Clements is a bust.
