Clayton: McGahee gives Bills more options

ESPN's John Clayton writes: Willis McGahee's fifth 100-yard rushing game in six starts has allowed Bills coach Mike Mularkey to expand a more physical brand of offense that has spurred five victories in the past seven games. McGahee's strength is his ability to bounce off initial tackles and move forward. Mularkey's added to that approach by creating a "Jumbo" running package by using 328-pound rookie offensive lineman Jason Peters as a second tight end on some early downs. And as the team gets near the goal line, the Bills use 335-pound defensive tackle Sam Adams as an extra blocker at tight end. more

It would be nice if Bannan had got some props for coming in playing guard on goalline plays for Bills. I think willingness to let players play other positions is a sign of a good coach.

What other coaching staff does this remind you of?

It wasn't so long ago Clayton was saying TH was the better back.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
            It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
