Tom Clements canidate for Notre Dame job

Just saw Chris Mortenson report on ESPN News that Clements is interested in the ND hc job and that Joe Montana called ND to recommend Clements.

Yeah, one of these days we'll have a big name on our coaching staff.

As an ND fan and a Bills fan, I'm not sure what to make of this. My hope would be that Clements can go to ND and fix their offense while Mularkey could keep the Buffalo offense on track.

Or ND gets Urban Myer and we don't have to worry about it.

The problem with Charlie Weiss is if the Pats go far in the playoffs ND will have to wait until after the season thus losing out on some good recruits...

Urban Myer not only took the job at Florida, but he will probably take all his assistants with him.

Meyer's rejection of ND is the ultimate insult. A devout Catholic (he was named after a Pope!) who used to coach at ND, loves the ND program, respects ND and could really turn ND around rejected them. I think that speaks volumes about the state of Notre Dame football.

He did get a nice fat contract from UF though...$14 million over 7 years. That said, I'll bet ND could have matched that to get Meyer.

maybe they didn't think he was worth it? Sucks how having ethics can really screw a football program.
