[i[Jay Fiedler's broken right thumb is healing, and he will begin throwing a Nerf football this week. He is hoping to return for the Dec. 1 game in Buffalo, but a more realistic return would be the following week vs. Chicago.

Fiedler needs time to build up the strength in his wrist and thumb so that he doesn't overcompensate. He has a history of starting slow when coming back from an injury, so it makes even more sense to make him wait. ... [/i]
