Orchard Park, NY - The Bills today announced that the team has signed linebacker Greg Favors.

The 6-1, 248-pound Favors has played previously with the Chiefs, Titans, and Colts. He entered the league when he was selected by Kansas City in the fourth round of the 1998 NFL Draft (120th overall) out of Mississippi State. He played in all 16 games and started four for the Chiefs in ’98 before being released and subsequently signed with the Titans at the start of the ’99 campaign.

Favors spent the 1999-01 seasons with Tennessee and played in a total of 63 games over three seasons there. He started 15 of 16 games for the Titans in 2000 when recorded a career-high 5.5 sacks while adding 61 tackles. He had another 61 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 16 games (12 starts) a year ago for the Titans before signing with Indianapolis as an unrestricted free agent this past April. Favors, 28, was with the Colts for the first eight games of the 2002 regular season but was inactive for each and was released by Indy on November 7.

Also today, the team announced that it has released WR Reggie Germany, who had spent the entire 2002 season on the Reserve Injured list.

Does this guy suck? Is he going to play this season at all or is he hurt too?

He can't be worse than what we have.

WCoast, I wouldn't call Jones a scrub. He came into his own at RE for TB and that's where he will play for us and terrorize :fiedler: or Lucas. Jones had 13 sacks in 2000 but was moved to a run stopping position for 2001. I wouldn't call him a scrub. Put him with Miami's defense and he's as good as Jason Taylor. Favors also is a quality player who is a proven vet. Teams wanted Jones. The Bills did a good thing in locking him up now.

i agree he is a great pick up, but as good as Jason Taylor??? no way. Taylor is a S-T-U-D.

I never said he's as good as Taylor. I said put him in a scheme with the players Miami has and he's as good as Taylor. Taylor is a better player, but Jones in the right scheme and with the right talent around him can be as good.

At least the Bills are making some improvments. Don't worry though, Miami will be right in line to pick up our sloppy seconds--Germany, Geason, and Utilio (however you spell that LB's name) will be in teal and orange by the playoffs. Oh wait, Miami always loses their first game come playoff time. So maybe by training camp next season.
