Orchard Park, NY - The Bills today announced that this weekend's game between the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills has been sold out in time to lift the television black-out.
The black-out was lifted when local owners and operators of McDonald's Restaurants purchased the remaining tickets. The Buffalo Bills and McDonald's have enjoyed a partnership for over 10 years that has included many worthwhile community and marketing programs.
"McDonald's franchisees live and work here in Buffalo. We love the Bills. And we don't want any Buffalo Bills fan to miss seeing their favorite team in action," said McDonald's Owner/Operator Don Richardson.
As part of the ticket buyout McDonald's and the Buffalo Bills will be donating tickets to active duty military personnel and the families of those soldiers who are serving abroad. Base officials at Niagara Falls Air Force Base will oversee the actual ticket distribution.
"McDonald's has been a valuable partner of the Buffalo Bills for many years," said Bills President and General Manager Tom Donahoe. "Their generosity and commitment to the community are evident not only in the purchase and donation of these tickets, but in the many community projects they have supported throughout the years."
In addition to the purchase of tickets McDonald's will also serve as the official Game Day Sponsor of the weekend contest versus the Browns. The day will feature a pre-game handout of McDonald's new Apple Dipper snacks (sliced apples served with caramel), exciting in-game prizes and a special in-game appearance by Ronald McDonald.
McDonald's is the leading global foodservice retailer with more than 30,000 restaurants serving nearly 46 million people in 100 countries each day. In this area, approximately 90 percent of McDonald's restaurants are owned and operated by independent, local businessmen and women who live in the communities where they do business.
