I’ve seen 2 other playoff threads but I’ll add another anyway!

Assuming we win out, which is no small assumption, we only need these 5 games to make it in!

Baltimore at Indy - We need Indy to win
Baltimore at Pitts - We need Pitts to win.
NY Jets at NE - We need NE to win
Jacksonville at Green Bay - we need GB to win
And either, Sea at NYJ or NYJ at Stl. We need the Jets to lose just
one of these two!

If those 5 things happen and we win out, we’re in!

You can also substitute Denver losing in Indy and one other for the Jets losing to NE and one other!

It’s really not so bad!

The toughest thing will be us beating Cincy!

If the Ravens upset Indy or Pit, it's basically all over for us unless the Jets choke?

It's not so bad when you have to count on the 3 best teams in the AFC and Green Bay to win games!

And 3 of those 4 are at home!!!

Baltimore won't win in Indy!
And they won't win in Pitts!
Jacksonville won't win in GB!
And the Jets won't beat NE at home!

We just need Seattle or St. Louis to beat the Jets!

If they do, we either need Miami to beat them in week 17 or like I said above have the Jets lose to NE and either Stl or Sea. and have Denver lose to Indy and either KC or Tenn! Still not impossible!

the second I start counting my chickens before they are hatched I am doomed...I'll look at the playoff mix after the Cincy game...maybe after the SF game...

Hey there is nothing wrong with being optimistic at this point. I have to say that I really really like our chances. Man is this ****ing exciting or what?

Question...if the Broncos finish 10-6...how will the tiebreaker go? Their conference record is 5-4. Let's say they lose to Indy and either Tenn or KC which makes them 6-6 (same conference record if the Bills win out). Will we still lose the tie breaker against them?

We just need Seattle or St. Louis to beat the Jets! I dont see either of those teams beating us, after this weeks loss to the Steeler they are going to decimate Seattle, and the Rams do not have the defense to stop Martin.

This is a lot better than trying to figure out ho we should draft next year

The Rams are a tough team at home and should give the Jets a battle.

If they lose to two teams then their record can't be 10-6.

Correct- if the Bronc0s lose 2 they will wind up 9-7

Darn. That means if the Broncos finish 10-6 they're conference record will be 7-5. Basically the only way we secure a spot is if the Broncos or Ravens finish 9-7 OR we tie the Jets at 10-6. Anything can happen though. The Fins needed to win 1 game in 02 to clinch a spot and lost they're last 3 games.

This game is really just so big!

If we can win it, we'll most likely be alive for the Pitts game. and that's all I want.

Oh but you didn't see us whipping your asses either did you? No fan sees another team whipping their teams ass, don't try and turn this into a petty argument. I didnt come on here to casue crap, so im sure your mature enough to let me put an honest, non confrontational opinion on your board, without getting an unprovoked comment like that one.

How was 2002 "the days"? It was a fun win at home but we finished 8-8 and didn't make the playoffs. "The Days" will be when we finally get back to the playoffs. Who knows, it could be this year.:grovel:

I agree...I went to the Panthers vs Rams game and Chandler looked lost out there. He was slow and threw into waiting arms on multiple occassions...Surprse, surprise, Martz put the loss squarely on Chandler and no one else (at least he did not blame the punter like he did against Buffalo)..Faulk and Steven Jackson were also hurt and not in the lineup...

Jets will win if Chandler starts...
