    Troy Vincent at FS

I like Troy Vincent at FS at this point in the season. McGee is stepping up big time and Vincent fills a gapping hole at free safety.

Out DB core is really solid now with Clements, Milloy, Vincent, and McGee. I don't think the Bengals have a shot at us this week.

I have been converted to liking the idea. McGee is developing rapidly and will only get better at the corner with the additional playing time. At this point, Vincent is a savvy veteran who gives us more at FS than Baker. In a few years, when Vincent decides to pack it in, Baker should be ready.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Fron Sirius NFL Radio this week-

With the new "don't touch the reciever" rules enforcement, a lot of these big dollar shut down cornerbacks from last year are already somewhat obsolete. Half the tricks they use to slow WRs down are now flagged.

That being said, safeties are now getting a bigger burden to cover the open recievers once they get by the CBs. Speed is more essential than size & strength. Vincent fits this role perfectly.
