The NHL won't fail out of this, the lack of hockey will continue to ruin the Players Association's reputation and will only bring fans to support the owners side.

The NHLPA will have to face it, they are not going to win this battle. A salary cap will be put into place because the league isn't hurting right now, the NHLPA is after their $10,000 a month salary runs dry.

I say the owners get together and install a salary cap. Ask the NHLPA if they want to be part of creating the cap. If they say no then they risk a lower cap. After that start bringing in scabs. Players will start to cave faster than Mikey90210 on a diet.
Baseball and football both brought in scabs and players caved in and in my opinion in sped up the process in getting things resolved.
The players are forgeting how fortunate they are to making more money in a couple seasons of playing the game they love than most people will make in their lifetime.
