View Full Version : Moorman Outrage on My Behalf

Moorman didn’t make the Probowl? Shane “Hannibal” Lechler gets to go instead? Is voting from here on out for the rest of our lives destined to be these super close battles that make no sense? I’ve never even heard of Shane Lechler. I’m sure he punts a ton and has great stats because his offense sucks in Oakland. But I have never ever heard of him. This is truly an outrage. Can we as fans chip in money to buy Moorman a Hawaiian T-shirt or something? The guy has run, passed, and punted for this team. He has his own charity and is seemingly overall a nice guy. This is just not fair.

If the Bills miraculous run ends short, my disappoint will be that he didn’t get into the Probowl;not that the team did not make the playoffs. At least the team gave us an awesome ride to be enjoyed. Moorman is a stud kicker and deserves his chance to go to the Probowl. He’s been consistent for at least 3 years now.

Anyone else share the anger?

although I don't know the stats....it would be hard to believe that any other punter in similar conditions has had a greater impact on his team than Moorman. I think once more of the league sees him...the votes will come....I would think he might be in next year if he continues the excellent play.

Am I mad? yep. Surprised? Nope.

Who cares he is a punter. Have you ever seen Lechler punt>???

Hannibal edges Brian in a lot of stats, so maybe they use that as the only criteria in this case. Maybe it's a popularity thing. Isn't the voting determined by fans anyway? Not sure.

Although the punter's not a high-profile position in the Pro Bowl, Moorman has been key to us containing teams on ST, along with our coverage.

I love Moorman and think he is a great punter but I could really care less if he made the pro bowl or not. I believe the fan's vote counts for 1/3 of the vote Dabills but I may be wrong.

Moorman is probably the best punter in football. The conditions at the Ralph really affect his numbers, however. He'll probably never make the Pro Bowl, with all the competition he has against dome and warm weather city punters.

The only thing that truly upsets me about the Moorman snub is the fact he's been the first Alt. twice yet he's not even one this year. Now that's a messup, even if he's just a punter, best punter in the worst weather conditions can't even be any part of the Pro Bowl team. (btw, Shelton deserved a spot too)

While it is true that BM and DS deserved to go to the pro bowl, these are some of the 2 hardest positions in football to vote to a probowl. A punter could be the best in the league, but still be 25th in the league for punting average. Its all about distance, hangtime, and accuracy. And if a punter is dropping the ball inside the 5 on every other kick, his average is probably not going to be that great.

A fullback is hard to gauge as well. I remember 10-15 yrs ago when a fullback was more than the battering ram that he is today. In the days of Daryl Johnston, you could gague a FB's performance on his receptions and carries. Nowadays, a FB is little more than a lineman in the backfield who is lucky to touch the ball 3 times a game.

The 2 biggest things that gets a punter and a FB and OL into the probowl is name recogniztion, hence why Ruben went so many times in a row.

While it does stink that DS and BM did not make the probowl, if this is the worst thing to happen to us all season, then it was a good season.

Merry Christmas all............

Moorman at one point in time was the best player on our team.

I honestly believe he's the best punter in the NFL. I've seen this guy kick punts endzone to endzone. Stats don't tell it all. He doesn't kick 70-80 punts that bounce 30 yards. He kicks them 70-80 yard in the air, plus the 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage. Next to Ray Guy I don't think I've ever seen a better punter.
He should be the #1 starter in the pro bowl.
