Does anyone have an idea of what position our draft pick that NE gets this year will be. I am really hating the fact that theyll even get our first, so I find myself rooting for everybody to lose. As long as its after 20 I can accept it. Of course the last pick would be best.:coffee:

We shouldn't be thinking of the draft right now.

Not until all the games are played.....somewhere around 20 would be a reasonable early guess

Sorry 4th, but for the past week or two I have been :D We are one good draft and free agency away from being a complete team. Our Offense is set. Our D needs some serious help.

They will most likley throw away their pick like they did last year (they traded up to get a TE, who has played 1 game this year. and isn't even in the top 5 TE's taken in the draft)

But its something to think about. We could be talking about the refs or the offensive coordinator.

I dont want who are we going to draft, just where. How they play effects it directly, so itll would be interesting to see what people think.

We have no #1, so the draft will most likely focus on building team depth and speed. I'm the Bills rep in a mock draft on Kffl......my second rd pick was CB Eugene Wilson(Illinois). why? Well, first, he's a steal in bottom half of rd 2 and Bills need players with speed for special teams. Both Winfield and Watson are UFA after 2003, so he helps long term. Besides, it's my belief that the DL will be further addressed in FA, as will LB. My 3rd rd pick will most likely be an the OL.

You know what I like about you, WCF? At least you admit it.

"Classless idiot"

I'm thinking about the draft 12 months out of the year. I'd like to think we can get a pretty good weakside linebacker with that bottom third pick in the second round. That also tels you where I think the Patriots will be making a selection with the "Bledsoe Pick." To put it more specifically, the 20th spot is probably pretty close. I really think the odds of making the playoffs are somewhat against us, though they're not astronomical.

let's not forget that the PATSIES like burning 1st round picks on bum RB's too.

My third rd pick will be one of the following(in order of preference)...the third rd started but still about 15 picks until my pick:

1) OLB D.J. Williams from Miami, (Fla)no longer available
2) TE Dallas Clark from Iowa(I'm assuming that JR will NOT be here next season)
3) C Bruce Nelson from Iowa(2nd best C behind Faine of ND)
4) FS Willie Pile from Va. Tech
5) OL Mike Saffer from UCLA
6) DE Aaron Hunt from Texas Tech

I'll update more later

The odds against the Bills making the playoffs just became astronomical. I think they will likely be picking in the middle of the second round. My draft priorities will be round 2 - OLB, round 3- FS, rounds 4-7 best player available with an eye toward a fast WR in case Price bolts, center and TE.

Can't target positions on draft day. You can rate the players available and then see how the draft goes. As with this mock draft I'm in, Eugene Wilson is a potential first rd pick and I took him in the second rd. I would like to get a LB in rd 3, but you always take players rated for the rd chosen.....never reach for a particular position.

Grab Williams , LB Miami.

Just what this team needs, another Williams.......

He was just taken by the Colts in rd 3 :(

Figure between 8th and 17th. Last year's 6-10s started at 8th and the 7-9s lasted 'til 17th. I'm thinkin' 6-10 and therefore around 10th.

I selected C Bruce Nelson from Iowa in rd 3.

clumping platelets
11-25-2002, 05:42 PM
That makes my mock:

2) CB Eugene Wilson(Illinois)
3) C Bruce Nelson(Iowa)

4th rd: I'll be looking at adding either TE Dallas Clark from Iowa or Robert Johnson from Auburn. DL & LB will also get a look

Is Joe Odom gone, CP.

Why did you take Williams in round 2? It makes no sense to me why as to the fact you took a CB in round 2 with many more pressing needs, an OLB, DT, or a WR would have been a better pick.

Have you seen Watson play recently?

Check out an earlier post of mine for the link to the mock draft and an explanation of my draft strategy

I was going to take DJ Williams in rd 3.

If they can get a DT and LB in FA, then a DB would be a great pick.

clumping platelets
11-27-2002, 12:46 PM
We've just signed Marcus Jones and Greg Favors..........I think adding another DL in FA will be a focus. However, as this past off-season showed, TD could go in many directions in FA

Ok......My final pick is in. The link is in an earlier post. The mock was only 4 rds.

I'm starting a new thread to explain my picks
