As a pure pass rusher, Bruce was as good as Reggie, but I thought Reggie was a better all-around player

ESPN said he had sleep apnea

is that something that all the greatest DE's got or something?
BRUCE has it as well, according to reports from when he got busted for sleeping at the wheel

Philster: I think you're WAY off base on this.

If you're referring to this....

"As great a player as Reggie was, he was a better person, and it isn't close," Detroit Lions chief executive officer Matt Millen said. "Every life that Reggie touched is better for it."

I don't think what he was saying was that "he was a better person than Bruce Smith, and it isn't close"

I think what he was trying to say was "If you compare him as a player and a person....he was a great player, but was an even greater person. It wasn't close." What he was saying that Reggie should be remembered more as a great person than as a great player!

Don't let the close proximity to the Bruce reference in the article fool you. That quote had NOTHING to do with Bruce.

Oh....in the words of Emily Litella.....NEVER MIND!

In that case, I completely agree with what you said. I don't know why Bills fans would take this opportunity to bash a great Bill, even going to the point of giving Bruce a

Bruce may have been a blowhard and lazy in camp at times..and whined about his contract but you can't deny what a great player he was. Besides, in retrospect, Reggie wasn't the perfect person either...and I'll leave it at that...I refuse to speak ill of the dead.

I like Bruce but I think Reggie deserved to keep that record. Bruce's attitude toward his coaches and teams while he was finishing up the record chase did not sit well with me. :idunno:
