Big Ben to Sit Week 18?

The good news for the Steelers is that, having clinched home-field advantage through the playoffs, they can afford to rest Roethlisberger in their regular-season finale at Buffalo

    I hope so.

Don't know if that's particularly good news. Tommy Maddox is a seasoned veteran and a competitor who will be trying his butt off to beat us.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

It appears so. Big Ben will sit week 17 (the week we play Steelers) and bye week (Week 18).

Have you watched many of the Steelers' games? Roethlisberger has played like a rookie on several occasions, only to be bailed out by their running game, their D, or a circus catch.

Maddox will be every bit as good in their system as Big Bad Ben.

He had a busy day huh? He had 40 rushes against the Fins last night and still was able to late hit Roethlisberger......j/k, it was Terrell Suggs.

Big Ben will definitely be sitting, he had some bruised ribs...He will definitely be out, there is no need to risk it.

Saw it on Sportcenter, Ron Jaworski reports that Bill Cowher will rest everyone next week who is not 100% healthy. Now if he really did do this then he would be starting at WR. But it is safe to assume that Ben and the Bus will sit next week. If the Bus does play though it should only be for a half.

By the way... Thank you Ravens and Jags

If enough of the Steelers get a rest, there will certainly be a positive impact for us.

But to think that Roetlisberger is somehow the heart of this team, and resting just him would give us a super advantage, is attributing WAY too much importance to his role.

Ok, we get the point Jan. You're more afraid of Tommy Maddox!

Nobody agrees with you, but we understand what you're saying.

Most likely, the Steelers won't play Big Ben, Staley, - and Plaxico Burris and Bettis will see limited if any action as well.

Anyone on the injury report will see little/no time.

We will get a helthy dose of guys like Antwan Randel El.
