Even if Lindell made that FG, we'd still be down 2 and out of time.

Nice try today fellas. The team took us to a level we didn't think they'd end up under a rookie coach after 0-4. Good job to the team. They worked hard to get to this point today. An improvement over last year at least.

This was a case of the D bailing out an O and ST giving them great field starts if ever there was one, even though they came up short. But hey, how can you expect our great D to stay out the on the field the whole game if the O won't match opponent's scoring. The O was stagnant too long today to overcome Pitt. Penalties killed us too.

Next year:

Defense wish list:

1) Need a shut down corner period to replace Toast McGhee, who may have position on WRs at times, but he doesn't have the size to jump with them and gets burned on coverage way too much. Move him to ST where he dominates.

2) Need a monster DE pass rush specialist. (Like a Peppers, a Kearse). I'm not saying Schobel and gang aren't good. But Adams and Williams could be that much more effective if we had a DE that drew double teams. Look at the pass rush after Clements TD INT on Pitt's next drive. Maddox had like 5-6 secs? How can DBs' stay with their guy that long? Seems like we are compensating for a lack of that impact player on the end by relying on blitz packages using different players constantly.

Offense:

1) Get JP in there. I don't think the year would be lost either. We have more weapons to surround him with than say Manning has in NY.
Drew's roller-coaster act had his three years and it's old hat. Time to move on if you can't beat a second-string defense in your own stadium, much less give them the game.

If we wait another year to see if Drew can win it all, that's one more year of WM, Moulds and Josh Reed's skills being wasted while JP's in the wings? For what? Drew's shown us what he can do with a very soft schedule and some premier offensive talent: 9-7.

2) Draft a TE

3) Resolve Travis Henry's situation before it becomes a distraction. WM is the starter no doubt.

ST:
1) Draft/sign a deep-kick threat and/or another FG kicker. Period.

Agreed, the first thing I thought was "This is it, the momentum has now switched" :sadwalk:

Sorry bud, we would not have lost like we did. No one would know for sure what might have happened if he made it. But you can rest assured that both sides of our team would have had another pep in their step, and no way does there 18th string HB run for 58 yrds on the next play. Ryan Lindel is a crappy kicker and I have said it since we signed him. He is too inconsistent. 28 yds in a make or break game? COME ON!!!!!!!

This guy is a douchebag. I could make a 28 yard field goal with my left foot, missing 3 toes, while suffering from irritable bowel syndrome and a 106 degree temperature.

It's sad but true... I'd take 90% of the punt, pass, and kick kids over this piece of garbage.

In all seriousness, if you can't make a 28 yard field goal in decent conditions during the biggest game of the season, you have no business kicking for an NFL team. Let him go to Arizona where he'll never be asked to kick in a big game.

If they keep him it shows they do not want winning players IMO.

Actually that FG would have put the Bills up by four at the time but who is counting.
