I am hoping at least a second.

Depends on his physical. If he passes with flying colors and is 100%, a 2nd is not out of the question. But anything less than that and we're talking 3rd/4th at best.

7 popcorn balls and a 40 of Olde English.

I'm not a draft expert but I've heard this is supposed to be a good RB draft. That will hurt us.

6 popcorn balls tops... What team would be insane enough to give up 7??

Kind of what I was thinking.

I'd rather trade him for a player than a draft pick. Maybe a lineman, TE, or 3rd receiver?

Rich Gannon.

It is a strong RB draft.

Cadillac, Benson, and Brown will all be 1st rounders.

We'd be lucky to get a 2nd, I'll say a 3rd right now.

You want a guy we can look at standing on the sidelines in a neckbrace for the season? Gannon would be as useful as a paperweight.

That didn't seem to bother MM or TD when Drew was in there. :snicker:

Thats is another good point.

We should be able to get a high 2nd for him. Every team in the NFL knows what he can do when he is healthy. They also know that he will put his own body on the line for his team. I am pretty sure that he is worth a 2nd round pick. Maybe we could sweeten the deal to get a 1st rounder for Henry and Lindel?

JK... but seriously, just take Lindel.

Hey....If Gannon comes back 100% healthy, I think he can bring us to the promise land.

Just my oponion. :ontome:

What's Gannon, 100? He's great if you like nursing home quarterbacks.

I was about to point that out. I hear he played Pop warner ball with Jesus.

In an ideal world package Henry, Reed and a pick to get into the first round...

at this point I would take a 3rd or move Henry to move the 3rd rounder into the 2nd..

I agree, and that appears to be TD's style. Trade a first rounder, then trade again to get one back.

3rd or 4th. Maybe even a 5th. He is a RB without breakaway speed, who is an average (at best) receiver, struggles at blitz pick-up, has had lower leg injuries two years running, runs a very physical style that leads to short careers, and will likely need an immediate contract extension since he is heading into his last year.

The more likely scenario is to see him packaged with a pick or picks to move up in the draft.

I love the guy and the way he works and runs, but with the RB's in the draft and James, Alexander and Rudi Johnson heading to FA, the demand might not be very high.

that's why at a $1M he might be a bargain to keep as insurance for a year if the right trade can't be made...then let him go in 2006 as a UFA and get a compensation pick in 2007.

This makes the most sense. $1m is a bargain. Why teade him for a pick we will be left thin at RB. Keep him around give Willis some extra incentive to keep up his play. The way the NFL goes you need a couple good RB's.

My bet that whatever trade we work out it will involve conditional draft picks.

I would say no lower than a 4th with pick going as high as a 2nd if he say startas and rushes for a 1,000 yds. They could even get two picks say 3rd and 5th or 4th and 6th...... Teams needing rb help include miami, carolina-davis and foster beat up..the raiders and tampa bay ....pittman on shaky ground

IT might be better to dump him to avoid the problems.

A 4th and an adequate left guard, and he's yours! I don't think we need a total, overpaid stud on the interior, but just a nice, smart, starter-quality guy. We could use the pick to draft another O-line (to develop, of course), for at least some depth, or a backup RB.
