Check out Moss' response to the fine.

Randy Moss trudged out to his truck in the subzero cold, with a huge, black hooded sweat shirt covering almost his entire face. All that was showing was a carefree smile.

In his usual flippant manner, Moss showed no remorse for his latest misdeed.

Minnesota's controversial wide receiver was fined $10,000 Thursday by the NFL for pretending to pull down his pants and moon the Green Bay crowd during a playoff win last weekend.

"Ain't nothing but 10 grand. What's 10 grand, to me?" said Moss, whose salary this season is $5.75 million. He then jokingly suggested he might perform a more vulgar celebration next time.

KARE-TV of Minneapolis recorded the exchange between Moss and reporters outside the Vikings' practice facility.

Reporter: "Write the check yet, Randy?"

Moss: "When you're rich you don't write checks."

Reporter: "If you don't write checks, how do you pay these guys?"

    Moss: "Straight cash, homey."

Reporter: "Randy, are you upset about the fine?"

Moss: "No, cause it ain't [expletive]. Ain't nothing but 10 grand. What's 10 grand to me? Ain't [expletive] … Next time I might shake my [expletive]."

Randy Moss of the Minnesota Vikings has been fined $10,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct after his fourth-quarter touchdown reception in Sunday's NFC wild-card game against the Green Bay Packers, the NFL announced Thursday.

anyone actually suprised by this? I know it's what he was thinking and any player is thinking when they get a little $5,000 fine, but still why say it?

I hope he doesn't get a touchdown, because if he did...I could just imagine him actually taking his pants off.

Although...then he'd get the real wrath of the NFL.

They are funny, but definitely over the line. Doesn't it make you sick when you realize that he is right? $10,000 is NOTHING to him. It's like a buck to you or me.

True, but if he does another celebration...I could see them slapping him with a $25,000 fine to him. He could pay that in cash also.

I think Moss knows how to get attention by riling people up, but he knows not to ever go too far. In the long run, I think these actions are going to make him more money than he lost. He got fined by the NFL, but with all the attention he's getting, his marketability keeps going up. The additional money he’ll be able to make in endorsements will far exceed any fines he is paying out. All the attention he is getting from this is only going to encourage him to do similar things in the future.

We did this, we are the ones who pay for tickets, The fans supply the money that create these incredible salarys. If there weren't fannys in the stands on Sundays and people buying $200 dollar a year Sunday Ticket packages (like me) and all the jerseys, hats and other stuff then what have you got?

Why should it make us sick ? Nobody should be surprised. Tom Cruise for one makes the same kind of money as do many other hollywood stars. We pay for that also. It's how we as society pay for our entertainment. If anyone told me 10 years ago I would be paying 200 bucks a year for football games I would have thought them crazy. Yet now I pay it gladly

So in the end it's not much different than a $100 dollar fine or less to you and me.

The thing that comes to my mind is,

The NFL must and does realize this, These fines are nothing more than a way to quiet down the people who cry out against such acts. It's a big dollar figure to you and me so they figure it makes us all go "wow"

It certainly dosn't hurt or alter the players life style or ability to make a living in any way.

Who is the sucker here ? we are

I still saw nothing wrong with Randys celebration given the tradition set by Packer fans. Yet he gets a stronger fine than defensive players who are getting fined for blows to the head and fines set to protect players from serious injurys.

Priorities are skewed in the NFL

Like I said in the other thread, the fines should be a percentage of a player's salary, like 2%.

                For example...

If an average player makes $300,000, that comes out to $6K.
For Randy **** Moss who makes $5.75M, that comes out to $115K.

I would PAY to see his **** face when he has to pay that one. This really goes to show you what a **** punk this guy is. If he wasn't able to catch a leather ball, he'd be in prison for some crime by now. Guaranteed.

I don't disagree that the fines should be changed. I also do not disagree Randy would probably be in jail for something else

I do not agree with the outcome in this instance though.

Without getting AWM to yell at me....That was a good post man.

You are right. We do it to ourselves. I help pay these rich guys their salaries by buying everything that's in my room with the Bills logo, and when I buy the McGahee jersey that i'm wearing right now, and the season tickets that I get now. We are the suckers. We actually feel they should get fined, but a fine is NOTHING to the players. All it is, is some bling bling for their car, or maybe a week worth of expensive meals. We are definitely the suckers.

As far as your last post, you are so right. How the hell does he get fined $2,500 more than Barton got for hitting Brees in the head with his elbow? I think I know why...because everyone was talking about the Moss thing. The media is the reason why Moss got the bigger fine. And it's sad.

That's actually a good idea. Make the players actually feel the fine in their checkbook. Not just be able to take some cash out of their pockets.

Thanks. The thinking here is that it should be relative. If you are a jerk, you should be fined. However, the current "flat tax" (so to speak) benefits the super rich. You need to use percentages to make if fair and effective across the board. You don't see many minimum salaried vets doing crap like that cause $10K to them is alot of cash.

(The irony of me making this statement is as thick as molasses, since I favor Republican platform on taxation. Oh well...hehe)

One more thing...if it's something like the clothesline on Robert Ferguson or the hit on Drew Brees...that should be a higher percentage than the other stuff.
