This league has really shaped up to be ultra compeditive. You could throw a blanket over the top 5 clubs. Each one of these teams have some great strengths and some glaring weaknesses.
1) Bashers- Retains the top spot by the slimmest of margins. Leads the league in Goals (60) but way behind in assists(70) and middle of the pack in points. Atough club co-leading in PIM's, and Solid goaltending from Cechmanik and Khabibulin.
2)Casdhf Rules- A pimply geek with pipe cleaner arms could score better than this team. Mario Lemieux pushes this team to the top in assists, and he's getting solid goaltending from Potvin and Thibault . He's a wussy with the PIM's as well.
3) Dozerdogs- 1 Goal out of the league lead, the DDogs are by far the worst assist club in the league, thus dragging down total points and the powerplay as well. He's acing the goaltending stats with the Minnesota duo of Roloson and Fernandez, and with Turco. He dealt top Goalie Weeks for Center Rod Brin'Damour, and shook up the roster by dumping Rangers Leetch, Lindros, and Messsier. He added Glen Murray and Mike Rathje to bolster the assists and the PPP.
4)Leaf Blowers- One man's garbage is another man's gold. The Blower picked up Leetch and Lindros in an effort to increase goal scoring production. With the Goaltending trio of Kolzig, Brodeur, and Belfour, I'm suprised at his middle of the pack rankings in the goaltending stats.
4) 4th and Long- decent goal scoring, I'm suprised as well that he has struggled in net with Roy and Cloutier. Roy is off to a slow start.
