View Full Version : Trade Evans for Harrison?

I was trying to get an idea of L. Evans worth and I might be too jaded by playing Madden, but I wouldn't trade Evans for Harrison.

Evans is 10 years younger with great hands and incredible speed. Harrison has it all as well. The age thing is a big factor in my decision.

The other side of the table could say you need to have a win now approach with Harrison having at least 3 more productive years and you never know what will happen with Evans.

It sounds crazy, to not want to trade him for one of the games better WR's, if not best.

Would you trade him?

Evans may become just as good as Harrison and seems to be well on his way there. As far as this "win now approach" statement, where the heck did that come from?

Harrison is an old man. No WAY. Evans may never be as good as Harrison in his pride was but the past is the past.

The "win now" just means Harrison has more experience and is already at an all pro level.

Put down the Madden! Step away from the Madden...and keep you hands where we can see them!

What makes you think one WR would elevate the team to being a Super Bowl winner? How do you know that Evans won't be a key reason to our Title following the 2005 season?

Win now is more of an expression. What teams do when you trade for someone who is already proven instead of going more on potential. I am not saying Evans doesn't help us win now, its just that when you trade for a more proven player instead of waiting for your players to develop, sometimes that is called a "win now" approach.

How about you just disregard the "win now" statement.

For the next year or two I'd take Harrison. For the next 10 years I'd take Evans.

Harrison wouldn't win us a championship so I'll take Evans.

Of course I have a valid point. Seriously. Harrison for Evans come on.... Madden is a fun game but its far from reality.

No way in hell we even consider trading Evans to anyone. Well...maybe for SF #1 overall.

who would we draft for that to happen?

Harrison is a better receiver right now, but he's also fully valued (getting paid what he's worth) and he has no upside left. He costs a ton against the cap. As he continues to get older, he's not going to get better. Rather his skills will continue to erode. He'll lose a step of speed. He'll tend to get nicked up and won't heal as fast. Evans is getting a good salary for a rookie, but it's still a rookie salary and with his rapid improvement he looks to be a huge bargain for the next couple years.

I wouldn't expect the Colts would want to trade and neither would I want the Bills to do so.
