Owners of professional sports franchises are tolerated, occasionally appreciated, routinely despised but rarely beloved. Their popularity soars when their teams are winning, or at least spending some cash in a show of effort. And their popularity ebbs when their team is lagging, accomplishing nothing of great note.
Given the fickleness of fandom, these should be lean times for Ralph Wilson, who hasn't had a playoff team in four seasons. Yet it seems that just the opposite is true.
