....This is a tiny bit off topic, but it relates to the Buffalo Bills. I was at the Creed concert last night (which BTW kicked ass) and people where saying they will be playing at some Bills games...does anyone know if this is true??????

I hope to god that they don't play at any games. Could there be softer rock than Creed? I'd prefer something with more energy or toughness in the sound for the Bills. They need to be excited and pumped up.

I like Creed, but they just like all the other bands these days. They all sound like Pearl Jam. Creed, 7 Mary 3, Nickelback, Default etc etc etc.

They do have a very approriate song for the state of the world now called One.

Affirmative may be justified
take from one give to another
The goal is to be unified
take my hand be my brother

The payment silenced the masses
sanctified by oppression
Unity took a back seat
sliding further in regression

(chorus) One the only way is one
I feel angry I feel helpless,
want to change the world
I feel violent I feel alone,
don't try and change my mind

Society blind by color
why hold down one to raise another
Discrimination now on both sides
seeds of hate blossom further
The world is heading for mutiny,
when all we want is unity
We may rise and fall,
but in the end we meet our fate together
(chorus)

well considering Scott was best friends with pearl jam and the doors I would guess they would sound something like them---BTW: They wrote that song 2 years ago- I am like the BIGGGESSTTT creed fan. they kick butt. Sabre. If you like that song you will like torn---and by the way, BOX CAR RACER used words from ONE for there new hot single I FEEL SO...he is the lyrics for torn (I also like that Creed is somewhat religious without going overbord  )

Torn
Peace is what they tell me
Love am I unholy
Lies are what they tell me
Despise you that control me
The peace is dead in my soul
I have blamed the reason for
My intentions poor
Yes I'm the one who
The only one who
Would carry on this far
Torn, I'm filthy
Born in my own misery
Stole all that you gave me
Control you claim you save me
The peace is dead in my soul
I have blamed the reason for
My intentions poor
Yes I'm the one who
The only one who
Would carry on this far

Well, ya, see, that's kinda the point.......the debut CD was great, human clay wasn't bad, but I'm not even going to buy weathered.........they just keep going downhill.

(One and Torn are both off of the debut CD, for those who don't know)

You are right--- but - They are the second biggest rock band in the last 30 years with 8 consecutive #1 hits

My Sacrifice is a low beat but nice lyrics- Have you heard Bullets? ("I feel forces all around me, Oh I woke up the dead")

Sabre Ally
08-02-2002, 12:08 AM
Ya, ok, Bullets is good and the video is even better.
Really, the only thing I have against them is I get tired of hearing the slow boring songs over and over and over on the radio. LOL
Plus I'm not religious, but Creed doesn't push it in your face, so it's tolerable.

#1 hits don't make you good.

Hold on! My favorite band is the Doors. And my second favorite is Pearl Jam. Yet I hate Creed. I hate the Pretty boy attitude. I hate the pansy songs. I hate Creed. They last about 2 seconds on my radio.

Patrick-- I dont know much on the situation. But after one of the doors died, they asked Creed to come play for Family and friends

Pearl Jam met them on many occcasions and endorsed there music- they loved them

How is creed a pretty boy attitude-- they just went on TV calling "Limp Bizkit *******s-pardon my language Tim, but..." They sing BULLETS, TORN, ONE, ODE (to a dead man) - thats pretty boy? I hate to see what bad boy is..

But if you saw the 30,000 people screaming every word to every song it was send a shiver down your back to

How do you know that PJ loved Creed. Creed is a band full of corporate rock sellouts. I really can't imagine Vedder would really be down with them.

Also, I hate that *****in Scott Stapp guy. I think he thinks he's God or something. He's the type of guy who spends 3 hours a day staring at himself in the mirror. Creed is my all-time most hated band.

The reason I know is because is a couple of members, where on TV talking about is how when they hear Creed they start to cry because it reminds themselves of them, and they talk about how much they love them and wish them the best---

Scott is a Christian, very nice guy. You dont know him. I have spent time with them...

AND WOH- Back up. CORPORATE??? Have you seen Creeds story. They all came from normal families in Tennessee and Florida. they worked so hard to get where they are- It was especialy hard because his parents kicked him out at age 17 and he lived in an apartment, for 8 months with a space heater, no couch, no bead, no tv...nothing..

then they tried to give record companys (over 17) there CD (my own prison) and they all rejected it except wind-up records. Creed is the reason Wind- Up is famous now... after cREED became the first Rock Band in 20 years to sell over 12 million copies on there FIRST cd, all these big record companys wanted them..but they said NO, we want to stay with there commitment with the SMALL little record company...and they are still with them.... Corporate my butt...they have a reason to feel proud

I'm sure the members of Pearl Jam were being highly sarcastic when they said that they cried while listening to Creed. Though now that I think about it, they may have been telling the truth in that respect, since Creed's music sucks so bad that they could conceivably make someone cry.

Regarding the statement in which I said that they were corporate rock sellouts: Obviously, Creed no longer needs the giant corporate machine to help them further their careers since they are now established. That being said, Creed would have licked all the major record execs balls (and probably did) for the chance to sign with them originally.

While Creed may have worked hard to get to the top, that doesn't mean that they are not a corporate rock band now. Corporate rock is about projecting a certain image in an attempt to sell themselves to the mainstream. U2 is now a good example of a corporate rock band.

Creed's music is derivative and lacking in artistic merit. Scott Stapp's holier than thou/bombastic stage antics are lame and retread. In five years from now Creed will be the next Candlebox (another joke of a band).

I will give them credit for making their dough$$$ though. I sure would like to have some of that.:bling:

Drew I have found out that you really can not change anyones mind completely. Everyone has there opinions. But I do believe you are being to harsh. When I dont like a band, I dont say they suck- I say that is not my style of music...and about his antics on stage has gotten the band #2 or #3 in concerts in the US and over 6 million so far have been to concerts just this year-

So Pearl Jam was being sarcastic?? Why did they ask for Creed to sing with them??

Sometimes I feel as people over-analyze things. It's music, who cares about everything else, either you like it or don't. But don't not like it for the wrong reasons, like how they got there, and how they are...
