Mr.Reality
01-23-2005, 05:49 PM
They called Brady "Mr. Perfect" in the pregame. I had a WWF flashback. Laughed, though.

Pitt has the kind of offense that could cause the Pats problems. The best way to blow up the fancy schemes is to blast it down their throats.

RedEyE
01-23-2005, 05:50 PM

RedEyE

Mr.Reality
01-23-2005, 06:04 PM
Brady is good, man. He's good in just about any conditions.

It was funny. When he was at Michigan, they kept trying to sort of ween Drew Henson in there. They did this for about two years, and it cost them at least two huge games. Maybe three. Brady always won, but Henson was the big recruit with the big arm, and they'd always try to be sneaky in big situations with Henson, and it'd bite 'em.

He's better now, but it seems like he's always been like this. Nothing overly imposing. He just never makes any mistakes.

honey
01-23-2005, 06:10 PM
Ok, here we go.......Not too bad. :D

While I don't love them nor do I think one's "gotta love" them, I do believe you have to respect them. They are indeed cold and calculating.

I hate them during the regular season, when the Bills are in it. But I tell you, I respect this team more than just about any team I have ever seen. They remind me a lot of the Bills SB teams (those Bills teams I think are better overall and would beat these Pats teams) in the sense that they just win, and win big, against whatever team that is supposed to be "better." This Pats team has to go down as one of the best I have ever seen.

TheBrownBear

Pats v. Eagles is a better game than Pitt v. Eagles. Plus, if the Pats win another Super Bowl that brings greater recognition/respect to the AFC East.

And this is why Cowher shouldn't stick with him the whole game if he continues to struggle. I think Maddox might be able to handle Belichick's schemes a little better. :idunno:

They are already behind...their defense isn't helping any. You have to give the kid a chance to snap out of it and put it together...otherwise you risk hurting his confidence all offseason. He needs to show he can respond...and sitting on the bench isn't going to do it.

I think you make the switch at halftime. Roethlisberger hasn't really lit anyone up this season. He's done a good job handling the game when Pitts has a lead but he hasn't really ever shown the ability to win a game with his passing. At least Maddox lit some teams up during that good season of his. Pittsburgh needs a spark coming out in the second half.

That's because they always win. If that team ever started losing....you would see a huge difference in their attitude IMO and you would start to see the players request the big bucks that they deserve.

I have to say that even though I don't want the Patsies to win - they have an awesome football team. Bellicheck is a genius and the entire team plays AS a team. Brady is so cool under pressure...so confident. I picked the Pats to win, but would really like to see the Steelers pull it out.

It was a good call. Even smarter that the receiver took some time getting up after the hit. Gave NE a chance to see a couple of replays before they challenged.

3 TDs isn't unheard of, but the Steelers will need the Pats to make some key mistakes.

The defensive holding call is the Dumbest Penalty Ever. It may have cost the Steelers the SB. It was 3rd and 17, and it was only 5 yards past the line. DUMB DUMB DUMB
That's why I can't stand that penalty. If they want to do defensive holding...fine....5 yards and replay the down. The automatic first down is a load of ****.

I agree. They don't want to run out the clock. They are already behind by 3 TDs. They need a lot of time and can't afford to lose the time on the clock.

Field goal is smart. If you don't get in the endzone on 4th and goal from the 2, you lose the confidence of your players. Kick the field goal and take the points.

I agree that if you don't score a TD it's pretty much over. But it's hard to turn down the opportunity to make it a one score game when you're at the 2 yard line in the 4th quarter. Tough call.

Let's see if they can do a quick drive down the field for a TD. They need 14 to tie it now. Those 3 points made more sense than I thought.

No, those 3 points helped them out. If they were stopped on 4th down, and they just allowed this FG....the score would be more than 2 TDs needed.

Do those 3 points make sense when you consider that they passed up a TD. Even if the Pats march down for the FG, the Steelers would now only trail by a TD and a FG.

01-23-2005, 08:16 PM
