KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Eric Crouch signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in another attempt to make the NFL as a defensive back.
The Chiefs will look at Crouch as a safety and plan to send him to NFL Europe this spring. Crouch, who won the Heisman in 2001 at Nebraska, is committed to defense, Chiefs coach Dick Vermeil said.
“He said he would do whatever we wanted him to do,” Vermeil said.
...
“He’s fired up about this,” Steiner said. “I’ve noticed a change in his attitude about things. He’s as excited about this opportunity as he’s been than about anything since he was in college.”
Yeah, fired up to be able to walk out with his tail between his legs again. What a dope Vermeil is to buy any of this crap Crouch is saying. Is the ol' coach really that desperate for defensive help??
