According to Buffalo BIlls Insider, we have TWO 3rd round draft choices this year, the 2nd being a compensatory pick from the Vikings b/c of Winfield. Does anyone see any possible truth to this? That would be great if it's true.

Sounds like speculation to me until a reliable source prints it; I do not believe committee which awards comp picks meet until after Superbowl.

This is true. Sorry I have no link, but I read this about a month ago on ESPN. Maybe we could put a package together with the pick and Henry and get near the top of round 2 or late round 1.

as i understand it, teams are only awarded compensatory picks when they lose more players to FA than they acquire. There is no formula for losing "blue chip" players and aquiring "value" players. It's strictly numbers.

we signed FA Troy Vincent. That's a wash with Winfield. We will not have a compensatory pick. Even if we DO, it would NOT be a 3rd rounder. 7th, maybe.

I wouldn't give up too much just t0o get into the 1st round...just cuz it's the 1st round don't make it a guarantee. I'd rather have 3 third-rounders (assuming we get a third for TH) than one first and no thirds.
