I don't think you would see the big names. I could see young up and coming guys who want to prove something though. You would have the occasional veteran in there but the majority of veterans wouldn't want to risk injury. Yeah, the olympics are pretty prestigious, but I don't think most stars in the NFL would participate. Nice post. If I knew how to give rep, I would. LOL Hell, I wish I knew how to start a thread!

Seriously, if football were an Olympic Sport, a team full of College kids would domingate. Nobody is interested in this sport outside the US except Canada. If fact it is regarded by many as a wimp's sport because it has pads, unlike a sport like Rugby (which is actually a bogus statement considereing as how the level of impact is much harder in football than Rugby, and, yes, I've played both).

If anyone saw the hit that Vick took against the Eagles, football is far from a wimp sport because they wear pads. I've never seen that kind of hit watching rugby

I attached a file which shows the two buttons you need to learn how to push.

One is Reputation which is a scale-type icon under each post.

The other is the New Thread button but it is seen only on top of each forum

You would get a young team. I don't see a lot of the superstars doing it and you have to account for fan appeal, so without getting into it too deep, I think it would look something like:

                  QB: David Carr (Roethlisberger, Palmer)
RB: Ladanian Tomlinson (Shaun Alexander, Willis McGahee)
WR: Marvin Harrison, Randy Moss, Torry Holt (Javon Walker, Hines Ward, Chad Johnson)
TE: Tony Gonzales (A. Gates, J. Shockey)
                  OL: Pick 'em

DE: Julius Peppers, Javon Kearse (Dwight Freeney, Bertrand Berry, Simeon Rice)
                  DT/NT:
LB: Keith Bullock, Ray Lewis, Donnie Edwards (D. Brooks, DJ Williams, J. Vilma)
CB: Tory James, Chris Gamble, Champ Bailey (A. Dyson,
                  SS: Ed Reed (Troy Palomula)
                  FS: ?

                  K: Adam Vinieteri
P: Brian Moorman (I don't know a lot of punters)

See I think you would see a few vets looking for gold. Like Farve... look at the first NBA dream team they were all old guys, I think the NFL would do the same.

                    QB Farve, Manning
                    RB Holmes, LT
                    FB Neal
WR Harrison, Troy Brown, Rice, Boldin
                    TE Gonzalez, Pollard, Heap
                    T Pace, Ogden
                    G Faneca,
                    C Nalen, Mawae

                    DE K. Carter, Taylor
                    DT Seymour

OK this bored me Im done
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
                    It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
