BZFFL#1 Week 12 Recap

One mean spoiler

The Route 20A Cows (Philagape) – 99
The Mean Sharks (lordofgun) – 102

The Mean Sharks (4-8) have become one nasty spoiler team. While winning four of their last 5, the Sharks have dealt a few death blows to teams hoping to sneak into the playoffs. Of course, The Route 20A Cows (10-2) were not knocked out of the playoffs, but were kept from clinching a playoff berth.
The Mean Sharks benefited from 24, 23, 22, and 19 points from Charlie Garner, the Dolphins Defense, Michael Vick, and Curtis Martin respectively, while the Cows’ Ricky Williams led the way with 26. The Cows could have won this game by starting either Daunte Culpepper or Laverneus Coles.
Outlook: The Sharks are done. The once-invincible Route 20A Cows are now just one game in front of the Hart Attack in the East.
Ebenezer - 70
Earthquake Zone (Earthquake Enyart) – 92
Eight straight wins and Earthquake Zone (9-3) is finally in the playoffs! It was a head to head clash between the two leaders of the central, the aforementioned Zone, and Ebenezer (8-4). This one turned into a no-contest win for EZ.
Earthquake’s two T’s were double trouble as Terrell and Tom poured in 28 and 27. Ebenezer’s 20 from Clinton Portis and 17 from Amani Toomer weren’t enough for him since Warrick Dunn and Brad Johnson, along with their 41 combined points, sat on the bench.
Outlook: Earthquake would be in as the Central winner if the season ended today. Ebenezer would be watching the playoffs from the outside. The race for the Central is far from over, however.
Ferdilizers (CalBillsFan) – 106
Rochester Rampage (Mike32282) – 108
This one came down to the Monday night football game. Jeff Garcia needed only 41 more yards passing and Ferdilizers (5-7) would have tied the Rochester Rampage (5-7); 66 for the win. It was not to be however, as he was benched late in the game after the Niners were out of it.
The Rampage remained in playoff contention thanks to 20 points apiece from Tiki Barber and the Titans D. Three other starters also scored in the teens for the Rampage. Six of eight starters scored in the 10 or more for the Ferdilizers as what seemed like a sure win turned into a disappointment.
Outlook: The Rampage and Ferdilizers are now tied for second in the West, just one game out of the lead.
TacklingDummyRJ – 106
Lake Eerie Monsters (SB43) – 73

Another vicious spoiler is TacklingDummyRJ (2-10). The reemergence of Stephen Davis (26pts.) and a big game by the inconsistent Koren Robinson (22pts.) were both big reasons for TDRJ’s victory.
26 points from Shaun Alexander was the only score of note for the Lake Eerie Monsters (7-5). Everyone else scored 10 or less.
Outlook: TDRJ is just a spoiler team, but can take pride in knowing it may have seriously dashed the Lake Eerie Monsters’ hopes for the postseason. With 2 games to play, the Lake Eerie Monsters are 2 games out of both the Central lead and the Wild Card.
Hart Attack (Don137) – 79
Yonkers Platypi Trappers (BF1) - 36
Hart Attack (9-3) had an off-week scoring wise, but it was enough because the Yonkers Platypi Trappers (3-8-1) got bogged down just like the Bills team that occupies the majority of their roster.
Marcell Shipp and theBucs D combined for 40 for the Attack, while Travis Henry was the only Trapper to score more than 7 points.
Outlook: Hart Attack climbed back into the Eastern Division race, now just one game out, and in possession of the Wild Card. Yonkers was eliminated last week.
Clumping Platelets – 73
Aero Planes (Aero II) - 116
The Western Division leading Aero planes (6-6), while just .500, again scored the highest tally this week. The number one player in fantasy football, Priest Holmes, accounted for 48 of those points, while Trent Green and Hines Ward scored 25 and 21.
Clumping Platelets’ (3-8-1) 29 from Rich Gannon and 17 from Edgerrin James was nice, but it wasn’t enough.
Outlook: Aero Planes lead the West by one game. CP has been eliminated from the playoffs in what was one of the most disappointing seasons in the history of FFL.
WEEK 13 Game of the week: Hart Attack vs. Route 20A Cows: In what could be the game of the year, the winner will emerge with the title of Eastern Division leader with one game to play. Hart Attack would pull into a tie with the Cows with a win, but would lead the division due to a tiebreaker, while the Cows will clinch the East with a win. Every division and playoff spot is up for grabs since not one team has clinched a division title, let alone a playoff spot.
If the season ended after Monday Night’s game, playoff teams would be:
1. The Route 20A Cows (East)
2. Earthquake Zone (Central)
3. Aero Planes (West)
4. Hart Attack (wild card)
Teams eliminated from the playoffs: The Mean Sharks, TacklingDummyRJ, Yonkers Platypi Trappers, Clumping Platelets
