I have a slimline, plugged in my cables to the modem and all it does is keep telling me that it's testing the signal but nothing happens... :huh:

Yep you just plug your cord right into the back of the PS2... if you have the network adapter that is.

Most likely because you cant be online on your comp and go online with your ps2/xbox. That was my problem. I dont have madden for a console, just the pc.

I wasn't. I disconnected my computer and plugged my ps2 into the modem. I was talking to my friend who was having the same problem... he said cablevision subscribers have to buy a seperate ISP to connect a PS2, or unplug everything and reconfig it everytime you wanna hook up, which is too much of a pain in the ass for me to even want to do.

Yea it should work man, I had the same exact problem when I tried to set up my PS2. Yea, I havne't been around much, just been busy with work and such. I've been trying to hit the zone early in the morning and late at night.
