Wide receiver Tim Brown's career with the Raiders

Having spent his entire professional career playing for just one team, Oakland Raiders wide receiver Tim Brown is a rare oddity in the modern day free agent era. Not that Brown didn't have an opportunity to leave. Twice, in fact, he came very close to playing for other teams.

    UPDATE

Tim Brown doesn't hide the feelings he has about registering the 1,000th catch of his NFL career. Or the possibility of it happening in the spotlight of a national audience on a Monday night.

"That's how we planned it," he said, flashing a wide grin.

Brown's flair for the dramatic extends back 15 years and 220 games. The process started slowly but built up steam until now, with Brown's production standing at 996 receptions.

Four to go to join teammate Jerry Rice and Cris Carter as the only players to reach the 1,000-catch plateau.

He will be the only player to accomplish it all playing for just one team. Given the itinerant nature of today's NFL, he may be the last to do that.
