On the way home from Buffalo today, I was listening to the Sharpshooters (Kelley, Simon, and Robitaille) on WNSA and the subject of Ted Nolan came up. Apparantly, the idea to offer him that one-year deal came from Northrup Knox himself..NOT Darcy Regier. After the feud between Muckler and Nolan, he decided that both of them had to go. Firing Muckler was simple but, since Nolan's deal was up anyway, and simply not offering him anything would have created an uproar (larger than the one caused by what happened), he decided that low-balling Nolan and hoping he'd be insulted enough not to take the deal was the easiest way to rid the Sabres organization of a popular coach.

well, for what it's worth, there are GMs around the league that don't like him as well. ;)

Wilson for Warrener AND a draft pick
Grosek for Gilmour and DuMont

The Dumont trade was not that great. I know grosek sucks but we could lose Dumont and not miss him. It was basically crap for crap.

Well, I can honestly say I just haven't followed hockey that closely the last season but JP was a solid pickup in his first year here, IMO.

You're right he was. I guess the change of scenery helped him. Looks like he needs another change of scenery

she's a bit tiny for hockey anyway, she was telling me and the Jills that were there how some lady asked her if she was a Jr. Jill...:lol:

Ah, I don't think you're a monster. Sticking to your beliefs is an admirable trait. :up:
