Drew is a Hall of Famer. I would hope that even you amigos wish him the best in making the hall or even if he goes on to play for another team....outside our division of course.I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Current/recent QBs likely to make it: Favre, Manning, Brady, Aikman.
Look at how exclusive that list is. To run up big career numbers by mere longevity is not enough. You have to be a championship-caliber QB, one who is consistently among the best in the league. Drew has been neither. He's had three big years (four if you count 1994, when he threw 27 INTs) -- that's a quarter of his career. Zero titles where he was the starter. His career rating is 76.6.
He's comparable to Dave Krieg or Warren Moon or Boomer Esiason. When you consider that they aren't in (nor SB winners Jim Plunkett, Joe Theismann, Ken Stabler, Phil Simms), Drew cannot touch the HOF.Last edited by Philagape; 02-10-2005, 08:52 AM."It is better to be divided by truth than to be united by error." -- Martin Luther
