    Moulds Extension

Will the new deal for Moulds lock him up as a lifetime Bill? In an off year Moulds still managed to put up impressive #s and he remains one of the top 5 recievers in the AFC.

are the cap numbers in that article correct? I thought the salary cap was much lower than $85 million/team

I love Big E and hope he is a Bill for life. He could have had big money elsewhere but stayed.

I'd like Moulds to finish his career in Buffalo. He is still a good receiver and, combined with Evans, gives us a formidable one-two punch. Moulds is not, however - at this point in his career - one of the top 5 receivers in the AFC.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Moulds cap number for 2005 is $8.775 million and 2006 is over $9 million.

It's likely to be a 3 yr extension because signing bonuses can only be spread out for 5 yrs starting in 2005.

He has $2 million bonus amortization in each 2005 & 2006, so in order to save about $2 million on 2005, his cap hit would be in the $6.5-$7 million, so his salary, new bonus amortization, and other bonuses can be no higher than $5 million.

I have to disagree about Moulds not being a top 5 reciever in the AFC.. even in a year in which the offense struggled to put up alot of passing yards Moulds still ranked 4th in the AFC in receptions without getting the deep looks that Evans got.

With his size, strength and speed he still demands opposing teams to gameplan against him and that is in a season in which he had alot of drops from balls not being delivered where the catch could be made and he could rack up Y.A.C.

He put up over 1000 yds and 88 catches on an offense that ranked near the bottom of the League in passing - I'd have to say he is definately top 5 in the AFC and I believe a Pro-Bowl alternate.

This is great news. I am very happy to hear that we are going to lock up Emo for basically the rest of his career. He is a class act and a hell of a WR. Good news that we also save some cap money this coming year cause we are going to need it.
