    You want a new DE?

    I have seen several people saying that they want a new DE.. i am here to tell you that you will be highly disappointed. The Bills just invested big bucks in Schobel, and regardless of what anyone else thinks about them, they obviously like Denny and Kelsay. I actually think both of them played solid, but not specatular this season.. And on occassion Kelsay showed flashes of being every bit as good as Schobel.

    I think our current DE combo is in place for at least 2 more years.

    Kelsay is def our #2 DE, lack consistancy but we can afford that when the other 3 guys on the line are beasts. I am ok with the DE situation.
    I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
    "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
    You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
    It was all     true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
    He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can     mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

          Kelsay has a mean streak that's a very nice compliment to Schobel's laid back, southern demenor. I thin Kelsay is destined for a big year in '05. Remember, Schobel didn't start making plays with consistantcy till about the 2 or 3 year mark either...

            I beg to differ bc I think we may pick a stirct pass rush DE late in the draft for a project purposes but other than that we wont be getting another DE that I can see.

                While I don't think our current DE situation is a huge weakness, I believe adding a speed rusher to the other side of Schobel would be of great value to the D, although I don't see it happening either.
