View Full Version : Out of the available QB's, who do you LEAST want as our back-up?

1. Rich Gannon- the guy is older than dirt
2. Vinny Testaverde (assuming Dallas signs Bledsoe and cuts him)- he's just as old as Gannon and completely overrated.
3. Kordell Stewart- the guy's Doug Flutie minus a brain.

I think our best bets are Fiedler, Garcia or Holcomb. None of these guys thrill me, but they're all decent back ups.

What about Mike McMahon?

I have no idea who he even is. Out of all the crap QB's being mentioned, he's the only one that I know nothing about. I don't even know who he played for.

yeah but at least he's younger than George and Testaverde.

Edit-I don't know what the hell that was about. When I quoted you, it said something about Theisman being a donkey-raping **** eater.

Why don't we put together a deal for Eric Crouch? He still wants to be a QB...

What about Mike McMahon?
McMahon is a very good prospect. He was a fan favorite in Detroit.. many wished for him to get an extended chance to steal the job away from Harrington. He has very quick feet and can scramble out of the pocket and make things happen on his own. I do not really see him being a starting QB in the league for a long amount of time as he is sorta "flutie-like" in that once teams get a grasp of what he is doing they can shut him down with game planning and with use of a spy. He would be able to come in and steal a couple of games for you though (just not for an extended period).

I think Holcomb is still young enough that he'll want to go to a team where he has a chance of landing the starting job.

I'm in favor of that move. Losman is the same kind of mold as Flutie, except for the arm. He could show Losman how to scramble around in the pocket and make some nice plays.

he started and holds many Rutgers football passing records. plays for the Lions and Mooch is very high on him. Bret Farve like in the way he moves and runs in the pocket. I doubt the Lions let him go.

When?

If you are talking about the pass against Miami it was 20+ years ago and was not close to 80 yards. It was in the air 50-60 yards.

And long passes like that are not the sign of a strong arm. Can he throw an out pattern in the winds of the Ralph?

The answer is no.

sorry... that mullet-head is American... we will not take the blame for him... he is yours!! :bikerbabe

and btw... your never ending attack on Canada is uncalled for and some of us zoners from the northern side of the border are beginning to take offense to it... please refrain from it in the future..we are all bills fans here and lets keep the personal attacks to ourselves. :peace:

My never ending attack on Canada? I don't recall making any other Canadian jokes- if I have it's been a while. Relax- it's all in good fun. (You have no idea how tempted I am to make a joke about you being the only Canadian with a backbone, but since you're apparently sensitive about the issue, I'll refrain).

sorry... might have gotten you mixed up with someone else in the "Mike Pringle" thread yesterday... i meant nothing personal against you... just trying to reach out and keep the peace! (for some reason I feel as though I should we should sing "hands across america" now) :peace:

He could also show him how to cause problems in the locker room and divide the team...not no but hell no

Quite honestly, I think all these QB's mentioned are crap... with Kordell being the worst... However, with the type of offense we are going to be setting up, I think Kordell might be the most effective if he had to step in... I can't believe I just said that.

fielder or garcia have no shot of coming to buffalo....Those guys are looking for starting jobs ,plus they want to much money and won't fit our system. Matthews , Miller or blake would be our best bets....Fielder was horrible last season why would we want him ???????
