Why do they think they need a cap of 48 Million? That's far too much money IMO. 40 million is more than enough to put a great team on the ice. So there won't be any 10 million dollar guys. When a third or fourth liner is geting paid 3-5 million a year something's wrong.

Another thing that irks me about this is the stance that the NHLPA is taking in saying that they are thinking about the future players. Well their stupidity has harmed a lot of developing players right now. I know a few kids who play minor hockey here in Edmonton who were on the cusp of going to junior teams and now they can't get there because the junior teams rosters are full of guys who whould be in the AHL, and the AHL rosters are filled with young NHLers who should be playing the big league and so on...When I die, please don't let my wife sell my camera equipment for what I told her I paid for it.
