I'll remember him as fireworks that were never lit.

I can only remember how exciting it was when he first came here. It seemed like the team was about to turn things around. They went out and got a big name quarterback. Things were exciting back then.

I'll remember the start of the 2003 season... the big win against NE and then on the road against the Jag's. If i can recall the bills were in the top 3 at that point in all power rankings and it looked like the offense was unstoppable. It was fun to get the national attention and drews "revival" was in full swing. Life was good.

Unfortunately I will also remember him fumbling the ball (errr giving it to the Steelers) who then ran it in for the touchdown.. at that point I was all to aware of the fact that the bills were going to lose to a "preseason" steelers sqaud with the playoffs on the line...and that Drew's career in buffalo had to end in order for the bills to take the next step. Life was bad.

I will remember he was a stud for the first half of his first season but then stunk up the place. I will remember his great arm strength but is a deer in headlights. Wished he was more of take charge leader like Kelly. Overall very disappointed. Do think he is a classy guy.

The opener vs. NE, obviously. The other was a sideline shot of him standing next to Gilbride. He had the same look on his face that Moon had the day of The Comeback. Funny thing, EVERYONE who stood next to Gilbride gets that look.

The jets game, his 1st game ever in buffalo. Secondly the ravens game of this year, games were polar opposites...

Drew's legacy is that for our (own) 2003 first-round draft pick, we got three years of mostly bad-to-mediocre play. While not quite a Walt Patulski-magnitude bust, it's down there with the likes of Erik Flowers, Rob Johnson (via trade), J.D. Williams, Ronnie Harmon, Perry Tuttle, Terry Miller ... :sadwalk:

However, we did redeem ourselves in 03 by trading Peerless for the pick used on McGahee.

Positives:

First he is a good father and person and strong arm

Negitives:

after a loss he would say how mad he was, but in the same old Drew tone (no emotion)
unable to win a big game
mobile as a statue
selfish desire to throw the long TD, ending up taking a sack instead of dumping the ball for a shorter gain. (not doing what was best for the team)
23-25
pitt fumble
a season where we wasted a great defense and special teams, other QB's won SB's with this combiation
happy to read this morings paper

ON TO THE JP ERA

What will you remember about Drew's Bill career?

He should have paid us to play here.

What I'll remember about Drew was the feeling of hope for all the of us Bills fans after we traded for him. I will also remember the inconsistent O-Line play during his 3 years.

The excitement of the parade when he first came here. It had been 5 years since Kelly left and Drew was going to be "the one".
The utter dissapointment that he was ultimately all smoke and mirrors like Jeff George, and the wasting of 3 years to find that out.

I'd love to remember him for something positive, but these are the things I will always remember him for:

1) That utterly defeated look and terrible body language he had when he would stand on the sideline with his helmet half-off in our losses in 2003.

2) The pass he threw away on 4th down against the Eagles.

3) His performances at N.E. He threw some of the most unbelievable INTs in those games. I've never seen a qb look so befuddled.

Much like your hero Dubya, the so-called "class and character" masked otherwise crappy performance.

He was a tease.

When you thought he was turning the corner, the real Drew would pop out in the least expected place.(Steelers backups)
