Yeah it will be. But it really blows for the AHL teams that have been working so hard this season, especially the #1 team...Rochester Amerks who will probably lose 1/2 the team to the Sabres. :(

Must be they got really nervous when ESPN announced that their current programming replacing NHL games (college basketball and poker) was drawing twice the ratings that hockey did last year.

I'd make it a 30 game season, play every one once home and away in your own conference. Play every other day starting March 1. Season will be done in 60 days (end of april)

Maybe reduce the playoff rounds to a best of 5, with the finals a best of 7. That could be done in 5 weeks, with the cup decided by the 2nd week of June.

Expand the rosters on game night to 20 skaters, so players won't get to fatigued playing too many games close together.

I think the AHL needs to change the rule about losing veterans to other NHL teams if don't get promoted, at least for this season.

Something needs to get fixed or the AHL is getting screwed badly. One of their best seasons ever, most exciting and now when the game starts back up...many players are going to flee to the NHL. :( :sadwalk:
