Good. $45 million was too high and they know it. The only thing that will fix this is a cap like $35 million and some kind of revenue sharing from the gates or a luxury tax for anything over $35 mil to $45 mil.

Good post Mike. And good for these small market teams saying NO! Of course the Rangers, Wings, Avalanch, Stars, Flyers, and Leafs owners want to settle. Those greedy bastards are already making money and with a 45mill cap to keep them from spending they will make even more!
What about the teams that don't get anywhere near 45mill anyway? If they don't get a deal that helps the small market teams than I hope they make NO DEAL!

Those same large market teams are also the same ones vetoing the revenue sharing. Something tells me that after they lose all these millions of dollars this season, they might be more willing to share next season. I'm glad that it got cancelled again and I hope the small teams keep vetoing it until the cap is down to $35 million and has some kind of gate revenue sharing.
