He can't do either of those until March 2nd :shakeno: Feb 22nd is just the deadline date for naming franchise and transition players and the first day major cuts are allowed

NO way in hell Vinatieri becomes a FA. Even if they can't resign him right now, for whatever reason, he gets the Franchise tag. I think they have done it before, and am positive they would do it again. A kicker and punter are perfect for the tag.

And since I don't see us getting Ty Law, no one else on that team really floats my boat - and if we did get someone from that team, let them play on the defensive side of the ball.

Maybe i'm old fasioned but i want touchbacks. Adam Vin don't get those anymore. But i would still go with him in a hreatbeat. Akers has a greast leg and is used to the elements. If we had a extra 2nd and a extra 3rd then i'd say go with Nugent but with no 1st we can't waste any pick....

The Eagles have plenty of cap room and would definately badly want to keep Akers, even if he doesn't want to re-sign, the Eagles would place the franchise tag on Akers. Akers and Vinetari are the 2 best Ks in the game, neither are going anywhere.

No, he is under contract through the 2007 season.
