BZFFL#1 Week 13 Recap

The Cows are the first to clinch

The Route 20A Cows (Philagape) – 118
Hart Attack (Don137) – 61
What was supposed to be the game of the week turned into the cakewalk of the week. Hart Attack (9-4), who had hung in there all year with The Route 20A Cows (11-2), picked a bad time to have their worst game of the year.
The Route 20A Cows had an all-around solid day as Ricky Williams led all scoring with 34 points. Four other starters scored 13 or more. This will be a team to be reckoned with come the playoffs.
Hart Attack, hobbled by an unhealthy Marshall Faulk managed just 5 points between their RBs, while 5 players scored 6 or less.
Outlook: The Cows have clinched the Eastern Division Championship, and can get ready for the playoffs a week early. Hart Attack, who have held on to the wild card nearly all year, would be out of the playoffs if the season ended today because they have scored fewer points than ebenezer.! It’s not over for the Attack though, but they must win next week and hope for some cards to fall in the right direction. It’s now just a 2-horse race for the wild card spot.
TacklingDummyRJ – 112
Ebenezer - 145
Ebenezer (9-4) grabbed that wild card spot by scoring a BZFFL season record 145 points. It’s always a nice feeling when your RBs combine for 75 points, which is exactly what Ladanian Tomlinson and Clinton Portis did. The Eagles D also pitched in 34.
TacklingDummyRJ (2-11) has really come on at the end of the season, scoring over 100 points in their last 2 games. Matt Hasselbeck of all people led TDRJ in scoring with 31. Five other starters scored more than 10. It just wasn’t meant to be for TDRJ, who caught bad breaks all year long.
Outlook: Ebenezer has grabbed the lone wild card spot away from Hart Attack by virtue of the ‘points for’ tiebreaker.. Winning next week isn’t a must for Ebenezer mathematically, but it sure would help. A win by Ebenezer next week, coupled by a loss by Earthquake Zone, and Ebenezer would win the Central.
Rochester Rampage (Mike32282) – 71
Aero Planes (Aero II) - 108
Aero Planes (7-6), leading in the overall scoring by 68 points, took a positive step toward winning the West with their 2nd straight win. A trio of Chiefs carried the day again for the Planes. Priest Holmes (28 pts), Trent Green (20 pts), along with the reappearance of Tony Gonzales (13 pts) sealed the deal.
The Rochester Rampage (5-8) had a poor overall outing, with the Cowboys D leading their scoring with 19 points, while both WRs scored just 3.
Outlook: The Planes lead the West by one, but have come as close to clinching a division as possible. In order for them to lose the division and the Ferdilizers to win it, The planes would have to lose, along with a Ferdilizers win…Oh yeah, and since their Division records would be identical, the Ferdilizers would have to outscore the Aero Planes by 192 points to make the playoffs. Like I said…pretty much a done deal. The Rampage was officially eliminated from playoff contention.
Lake Eerie Monsters (SB43) – 66
Earthquake Zone (Earthquake Enyart) – 74
Well, it wasn’t a flashy win, but the hottest team in the league, Earthquake Zone (10-3), stayed warm thanks to 20 from the Patriots D, and the Vikings duo of Randy Moss and Michael Bennett combined for 27.
The Lake Eerie Monsters (7-6) had a good output from Joe Horn, but four starters with less than five points isn’t going to get you anywhere.
Outlook: The Earthquake Zone holds on to a tenuous 1-game lead in the Central. They control their own destiny, but must win their 10th straight game next week to guarantee a playoff spot. The Monsters are eliminated from contention with this loss.
Ferdilizers (CalBillsFan) – 89
Clumping Platelets – 56

Corey Dillon and Fred Taylor each racked up 15 for the Ferdilizers (6-7), but the big story of the day was 24 points from, of all things, the Colts Defense.
Clumping Platelets (3-9-1) got 20 from Rich Gannon, but also received a whopping –2 from Randy McMichael, who fumbled away any chance of a Dolphin victory on Sunday.
Outlook: See above for the Ferdilizers. It won’t be easy.
The Mean Sharks (lordofgun) – 87
Yonkers Platypi Trappers (BF1) - 124
The Mean Sharks (4-9) should never guarantee anything again. First it was Jim Miller, and now an all-Bills team that beat them after guaranteed wins by their stupid stupid owner.
The Yonkers Platypi Trappers (4-8-1) scored big with the Bills’ huge win over Miami on Sunday. Bledsoe led the scoring with 36 in a four-touchdown performance. While Henry, Price, and Moulds combined for 63.
35 from an astounding Michael Vick weren’t enough for the Mean Sharks.
Outlook: None…both teams have long since been eliminated.
WEEK 14 Game of the week: Ebenezer vs. Lake Eerie Monsters and Earthquake Zone vs. TacklingDummyRJ: As described earlier, if Ebenezer wins and the Earthquake Zone loses, or vice versa, the winning team would win the Central division, and the loser could be out of the playoffs. If both teams win or both teams lose, Earthquake zone is in as the Central Division champ, while Ebenezer could be watching the playoffs from his easy chair…which he’ll probably be doing anyway. =-D
If the season ended after Monday Night’s game, playoff teams would be:
1. The Route 20A Cows (East)
2. Earthquake Zone (Central)
3. Aero Planes (West)
4. Ebenezer (wild card)
Teams eliminated from the playoffs: The Mean Sharks, TacklingDummyRJ, Yonkers Platypi Trappers, Clumping Platelets, Lake Eerie Monster, Rochester Rampage
