Clarett first ran a 4.82, and then a 4.72 at the combine today. So much for being in a lot better shape, he might not even get drafter now.

Ronnie Brown wieghed in at 233 pounds an ran a 4.4 flat, then a 4.3 something. WOW.

D'andre Cobb ran a 4.38. SOme 250 pound guy from the citadel ran a 4.5.

I know we probably aren't looking at any of these guys but it's cool to have some numbers to finally talk about :)

there's no link yet, I was watching on the NFL network.

Ronnie would look good in a Dolphins uniform... :)

wow, ronnie brown's second 40 was 4.32! at 233 pounds!

scary that this guy really COULD end up in a dolphin uniform.

People said the same thing about Sammie Smith years ago.

Wow Brown improved his draft stock, when is Mike Williams running?

I have said it ever since Clarett stopped playing for OSU, that he is not fast enough, and isn't mentally stable enough to play in the NFL.

At last I heard Mike Williams opted not to work out.

Yea I think thats right, maybe i misheard, I was playing poker trying to listen to the tv this morning thought they said Mike Williams was working out.

I thought Ronnie Brown was the best back in the draft, that helps my decision even more. Especially when Benson isn't working out at the combine.

Mike Williams is going to hold a private workout, one reason could be the claim that it's a slower turf at Indy.

I kind of hope Clarett's time scares teams off so we can "waste" a 7th Round pick on him. I think he would be a lot better gamble than a linebacker from Slippery Rock.

Yeah, Mike Williams chose not to work out..I think that was bad move, he's been out of football for a year. he needs to take the "I'll run any time, anywhere" attitude. He did say he is going to run a sub-4.5 forty...I am skeptical about that but we will see.

How about an OG from Mansfield U? I'd love to see my buddy Chris Farris get a shot. Great kid and plays MEAN.

(And he runs a 40 about as fast as Clarett!)

I agree he is not that bad i would take him in the 5th if he was still there I think the forty is overrated u don't have to look ant farther than emmitt smith 4.6 in the forty

Same here, 5th is the highest for me.

It always seems like the teams don't care that some of the top names don't work out in the combine. If you are a high enough prospect, teams will come to see you. It's actually the smarter move if you ask me because it puts the PLAYER in control instead of the combine. i would think workingout poorly at the combine is far worse than not working out.

odd though.. he ran a 4.6 last year.. but did a lot less reps on the bench.. maybe the extra muscle slowed him down? too bulky?

Nah, hg, you know those guys from places like Kutztown and Chadron State never amount to anything.

Amount to anything? Who said anything about that? I was thinking more about just having connections!

clarrett didnt leave the workout.. he was obviously very disappointed that he ran so poorly after training all year for that.. he was interviewed by rich eisen on the nfl network.. good interview.. clarrett said that he understands that he really didnt perform well.. he said that he never has been a great workout warrior, but that he is not making excuses, because he had alot longer to work on this stuff than the other kids here.. and he has been through this before.

terrell davis was there with him too during the interview, and said that clarrett doubled him in the bench (11 for TD to 22 for clarrett) and said that his 40 times were a "4.7 and 4.8 something"...

clarrett said that he is going to work out again at ohio state.. he missed some of the drills after the 40 run... but did not leave the combine.. he said he was there cheering on the other guys.

Clarret would be a better backup than Joe Burns if he could reconcile himself to being a backup for his whole career.

So how do we get Farris an audition with the Bills?

(I have a 50 something friend who, as a 15 year old at East Aurora High School, had a crush on a classmate who is now an administrative assistant in the Bills Stadium Operations Department - but she didn't like him at all. I doubt if this qualifies as a "connection" in any sense of the word.)

I highly doubt ohio state is going to let clarett work out there...

by the way, Mike Williams did run today...he ran a 4.61 and a 4.59, similar to last year. Didn't help himself, but probably still will be top 15.

Are you serious. Man, I will eat my hat if he goes in the second round. When the combine started I seen him in the 5th, maybe 4th. With times like that he might not get drafted at all.

Any other takers think he will be gone by the start of round 4?
