I heard that the owners finally used the words. They said that it would be a last ditch effort. But, they also said that they WILL be playing in the fall of 2006.

Brilliant strategy- close the NHL until all the players reach retirement age

I hope they use replacements the first chance they get. It would have to be more exciting than the dreck the NHL has had out there recently.

Keep holding out, Player's Assocation. Please.

The owners are insane. Good luck selling NHL tickets with AHL talent.

You're either an owner or incredibly dense.

Look, its not going to last for very long. Getting replacement players puts the pressure square on the NHLPA. Players will start to cross the pickett line, and then the Union either breaks or conforms to the owners. Then the NHL talent will return. Replacement players is definitely a good move IMO.
