Great signing for the Vikings. I am going to continue to hope that Ty Law signs here in Buffalo. I wonder if Washington will jump into the pile for him.

I believe you. ESPN is always late with their confirmation. This deal is most likely the truth.

The vikes have a lot better D all of a sudden, they've added napolean harris, Pat Williams and now smoot. Not to mention the fact that Safety Donovin Darius is looking to get traded there as well... "Tell the fans up there that if I had my choice of any team in the league to play for, it would be the Minnesota Vikings," Darius told the Star Tribune. "I've looked at every team in the league, and it's definitely the best fit for both sides."

But maybe that's because he knows he'll get paid in Minnesota with all their cap room.

wow....we need to sign nate to an extension right now...

Problem is this...A couple of years ago the greatest show on turf created a boom market for corners and this market has not yet come down. With the new kind of "tough" play the league has been doing (rise of "tough" teams such as SD, NE, philly etc...) in a year or two LBs and DL are going to be the high priced comodoties. This along with league rules will drive down the price of cbs

I am not a big fan of smoot. I think he has good coverage skills but I don't think he matches up against physical receivers. Good thing the NFC North doesn't have too many of those.

Everyone should just chill for a second. It looks like we'll need to sign Milloy and Clements. If we go far into the playoffs this next year, Clements will be a priority. I really hope he doesn't jump ship! Hopefully Lawyer can have some sway on Ty Law to bring him in. If that happens, Clements may not be a priority and we would draft a CB.
Thats just my thoughts!
PEACE!

Hmmm...I find it interesting that the Vikings preferred Smoot over Law...Is Law's injury more severe than has been let known? Ordinarily, I would have much preferred Law over Smoot. That has me wondering now why no one is rushing to sign him!

Age may be a factor in their preference.

I am not a big fan of smoot.

Ditto. He is vastly overrated. I live in Deadskins country and many of their fans complain about him getting burned at the most critical times. The Vikes are desperate to upgrade their shoddy defense and Smoot does provide an upgrade, warts and all.

No matter what, we won't lose Clements for nothing. TD will put the tag on him if he can't re-sign him.

But I hope they extend him before the season.

probably a big factor...Smoot can still improve. Law is on his way downhill

I think we can afford Clements but the question is "do we want to tie up that much cap space in 1 player"? I think he will be about 3-4 mill against the cap for every year we have him even if we back load it. I say YES, he is worth it. I think we will be very thin if we lose him. And #22 is special and more then panned out. look at Buchanon or Jammer or the Cowboys young CB. NONE of them can hold Clements jock.
